Santa made a surprise visit

After our awesome Christmas show and family picnic we got a call to come down to the library and look who was waiting for us there!!!  Santa!!!   :)  He showed us his magic book with the good and naughty list - we think we are all on the good list.   Fingers crossed x

Market Day

We had a wonderful market day last Friday.  We got to buy items and plants that other students made at our school.  Here is Lotosina and Aahana selling the Year 1 items.  Thank you girls for all your selling skills during the market afternoon.

The Very Busy Spider

Year 0/1 Trip photos

Here is a quick slide show of our awesome trip to Devonport. We walked to Papatoetoe Train station, then caught the train to Britomart and then caught the ferry across to Devonport and then we caught the bus back to school!!! WOW we were busy that day! :0 Thank you to all the parent helpers on the day. We were able to see lots of landmarks around Auckland such as Rangitoto Island, Britomart, The Ferry Building, the Auckland Harbour Bridge, the Sky Tower and Devonport. Welcome Back to Term 4

Talk Like a Pirate Day

Today was International Talk like a Pirate day and we celebrated this by watching Pirate stories online, writing about our own pirates, doing pirate matching maths and finally making our own pirate hats!

We went down and showed Mrs Gwilliam our awesome hats and showed her how we could talk like a pirate "Arrrh".

Puppet Pals with Mr Hale

This afternoon Mr Hale was in our room working with 3 children from Room 5 using the Puppet Pals!
They got to retell our big book from last week called "The Bear's Picnic".

Aahana, Raul and Cialei had to take photos, cut them out and then come up with a script.
Finally, they had to record their script and move the pictures.

Heads, shoulders, knees and toes in Te Reo

Here we are singing "Heads, shoulders, knees and toes" in Te Reo that Miss Kitshoff taught us last time she was with us.

We sound pretty good!

Turning bread into toast with Miss Kitshoff

Today Miss Kitshoff ( our student teacher) showed us how to turn bread into toast, then we got to eat toast with either nutella or jam!  It was so yummy.
After we had watched it cook, we wrote a recount of what happened.

Last Friday we tried working in different maths groups to solve some word problems.
We had to read the question and then circle the key maths words.  Next we had to write the maths equation and if possible draw a picture to represent the problem.

Measurement Day

Last week we were learning how to measure objects and to see which is shorter or taller.

First we had to find some objects around our classroom to measure and then take a photo on the ipads of which is shorter or taller.
