Busy busy busy in Room 5

We have been very busy in Room 5 last week. We have started using the school fitness trail for our daily fitness, we have started having weekly spelling words and we learned a new spelling activity from Miss Stonestreet. On Tuesday it was Miss Buchanen our student teacher's last day too.

And then on Friday it was Daffodil Day and we made our own daffodil hats and then after the Year One parade, we iced biscuits to make them look like mini daffodils with Room 1. So here are some photos of our busy week!

Also, Mums, Dads and Grandparents, we would love more help on our trip to the Auckland Museum next week. At the moment, we only have 1 helper so far. If you came on the last trip, we would love you to come again on this trip too. Please let Miss Stonestreet know this week if you can help.

Puppet Power!

This week is Book Week at school. We read "The Ravenous Beast" on Monday for our big book. Then on Tuesday we made our own monsters. In the afternoon, we had a go at making our own puppet shows. Miss Stonestreet is trying to crop all our videos together. Check back soon to see if she could do it! Here we are with our little monsters...

Rm 5's crowns

On Friday we made some crowns.  We made them out of coloured paper and white paper.  We put sparkles and glitter on them too!

Here are some photos of our crowns.

Clifford - The Big Red Dog

Today we made our own Clifford dogs.  First we had to colour it red, then we had to cut it out.  Finally, we had to glue on his tail!  Check out the final Cliffords!  :)

Well done everyone for an awesome assembly today!
You all did so well.
It's a shame the photos are a bit blurry, but you can still see us in action.

Reading EGGS

We are trialling a new reading programme called Reading Eggs.  It is made by the same people who do Mathletics for the Year 3-6 at our school.

We have a free trial for 8 weeks.  Each child had their own username and password, that they should not share with anyone other than their Mum, Dad or Caregiver  :)

We will be using it during our reading time  but feel free to give it a go at home too.
It is linked on the side of our blog under Cool Website or click on the picture below.

Thanks
